Control of cyberphysical systems using passivity and dissipativity based methods
In cyberphysical systems, where compositionality of design is an important requirement, passivity and dissipativity based design methods have shown a lot of promise. Although these concepts are classical, their application to cyberphysical systems poses new and interesting challenges. The aim of this paper is to summarize some of the on-going work in this area by the authors.
متن کاملDemonstrating Passivity and Dissipativity using Computational Methods
Passivity and dissipativity are energy based properties of dynamical systems that may be used for the analysis and synthesis of linear and nonlinear systems. The two properties provide valuable stability results as well as compositional results for the analysis of interconnected systems. Using both the stability and compositionality results, large scale systems can be determined to be stable by...
متن کاملControl of Networked Switched Systems Using Passivity and Dissipativity
متن کاملEvolving systems: Adaptive key component control and inheritance of passivity and dissipativity
We propose a new framework called Evolving Systems to describe the self-assembly, or autonomous assembly, of actively controlled dynamical subsystems into an Evolved System with a higher purpose. Autonomous assembly of large, complex flexible structures in space is a target application for Evolving Systems. A critical requirement for autonomous assembling structures is that they remain stable d...
متن کاملRelationships Among Passivity, Positive Realness, and Dissipativity with an Application to Passivity Based Pairing
The notions of passivity and positive realness are fundamental concepts in classical control theory, but the use of the terms has varied. For LTI systems, these two concepts capture the same essential property of dynamical systems, that is, a system with this property does not generate its own energy but only stores and dissipates energy supplied by the environment. This paper summarizes the co...
